Getting Started

A great way to start transforming your bedroom is to de-clutter so you can see what you’re working with. Even a quick tidy up can make you feel better about the space, however, if this doesn’t satisfy your desire for a new sleeping space, below are a couple of things you can do without actually redecorating the whole room;

  • Bedding - getting new bed linen, cushions and throws are a great way to add new colours, textures and style to your bedroom
  • Upcycle - transform your bedroom furniture with new handles or a lick of furniture paint
  • Lighting - lighting can really affect mood, so relax and unwind with the use of lamps, or for a touch of luxury, why not install a statement chandelier as a central feature of your room
  • Wall Art - dress your walls with new pieces of wall art, or showcase your best memories in frames in a collage on your walls
  • Storage - creatively pile your items up or use crates to display your favourite items or collectables, which effectively stores the items for you as well as looks on trend.

A few small changes can go a long way to creating a newly decorated bedroom at little cost.

Bedroom decorating ideas

If upcycling and accessorising alone is not for you, and you have a small budget available for wallpapering your bedroom, then there are ways you can get fantastic results without needing a massive budget.

Here are some bedroom decorating ideas from our wallpaper expert for some inspiration;

Choose a new bedroom theme or style

You can significantly change the look and feel of your bedroom by simply changing the colour scheme and/or style by introducing;

  • Delicate patterns
  • Symmetry
  • Minimalism
  • Bling

What’s more, you can create interest with the use of different textures and patterns.

You may want to give your bedroom a touch of vintage flair with a floral wallpaper or get away from it all with a rustic wood panel effect wallpaper.

Focus on one space

To reduce your spend, why not create a lovely feature wall behind your headboard? This would totally transform your bedroom, and give you a colour palette to work with for accessorising your bedroom.

Incorporating an accent colour is a great way to give a bedroom a fresh new look, and it doesn’t just have to be a feature wall, you can wallpaper a single wall to create a focal point in your room, maybe where you can put shelves up and display your finest trinkets.

Another way to create new relaxing bedroom space is to again focus on one space and build a cosy reading corner to relax in, if you have the space this can be your getaway.
