Vinyl Wallpaper
Vinyl wallpaper includes a washable and often tactile sculptured top surface layer, making it a highly durable wallcovering choice. Ideal for use in any and every room of your home, you'll appreciate using vinyl wallpaper in the high traffic or high humidity areas of your house such as stairways and utility rooms.
Patterns, textures and surface embellishment choices are endless when it comes to vinyl wallpaper, it really is a perfect choice! Whether you are looking for a regal damask, an extravagant floral or a tactile plain you're in good hands here.
Here at Home Flair Decor, we understand that it can be difficult to navigate what the best wallpaper type is for your decorating project. If you don't have previous decorating experience or existing knowledge of what options are available in the first place... we're here to help!
Why choose a vinyl wallcovering?
Vinyl wallpaper is especially ideal for rooms in your house like the kitchen, bathroom and utility room that experience higher than average humidity. It is designed to withstand temperature changes far better than regular wallpaper and can withstand increased moisture in the air making it perfect for these hard working hotspots at home.
When the atmosphere is not the biggest concern but footfall, grubby hands or abrasion is, then vinyl can be the best choice for hallways, staircases and landings. The solid surface is resistant to scuffs and it can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a gentle soap
For best hanging results...
Where conditions are more demanding, like the above mentioned, your choice and strength of adhesive become more important. Whilst you can hang vinyl wallpaper with a dilution of flaked/powdered wallpaper paste (check paste packaging for correct dilution/mix) for areas of increased traffic, higher temperatures and increased moisture such as steam a ready-mixed wallpaper adhesive is your absolute best choice for vinyl wallpaper. This will increase the lifespan of your vinyl wallpaper by reducing the chances of the wallpaper lifting at the joins which can lead to tears and curled edges.
Finally on adhesion, for any small overlaps (such as around a corner) you'll need a vinyl-to-vinyl adhesive, this is an inexpensive adhesive that allows these water-resistant wallpapers, like vinyl wallpapers, to stick to themselves. You'll also use this should you wish to hang a wallpaper border on top of a vinyl wallpapered surface.
